UbU: Packing Your Personality

April showers bring May flowers. Spring is ever so slowly coming. We have had a few hints of it here and there, and I am looking forward to warmer and nicer weather.

There is just one thing about spring that makes life a little difficult: rain. It is very hard to look stylish in the rain, but UbU has come out with some great designs that do the trick. We were sent two raincoat cuts: the black and white mini plaid Sporty Slicker with hood and pockets and the navy blue and white Reversible Rain Coat with pleated pockets and hood.

Both styles are very unique and perfect for the NYC girl looking to stand out. UbU’s slogan- “pack your personality”- certainly describes them perfectly. I do have to say that the cuts are on the large side. I had two smalls sent to me and I was completely swimming in the Reversible Rain Coat, which is sad. The Sporty Slicker is not cut to body, but fits really cute. I really like the modern lines and colors for the Sporty Slicker, while I found the Reversible Rain Coat a little too cute for my personal taste. Both coats are made from incredibly light weight material (I do not know how to emphasize this enough, it weighs practically nothing) and will be handy throughout the summer too.

As the name would imply, the Reversible Rain Coat is reversible. You can wear it as a blue coat with a white polka dot liner or the other way around. Either way the prints are a lot of fun.

For a great light weight rain or wind breaker UbU is a very creative and fun solution. For designer pieces, UbU is faily affordable. On average you will be spending from $185 to $210 for their raincoats.
