Camp Bisco 2013: A Must-See Lineup

From July 11 through 13, 2013, Camp Bisco will be returning to Mariaville, NY for its 12th consecutive year. Camp Bisco is a 3-day outdoor music festival that is known for hosting both electronic artists and jam bands- but mostly electronic.

Headliners include: The Disco Biscuits, Bassnectar, Passion Pit, STS9, Animal Collective, Umphrey’s Mcgee, Flux Pavilion, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wolfgang Gartner, Lotus, Boys Noize, Zed’s Dead, Squarepusher, Dillon Francis, Baauer, Tommy Trash and lastly Toro y Moi.

And those are just the headliners…

Other electronic artists to look for are Break Science, Dan Deacon, Designer Drugs, Flosstradamus, Gramatik and Paper Diamond. If you’re more interested in the band side of things, check out Rubblebucket, Free Energy, Twiddle and of course, The Disco Biscuits.

The Disco Biscuits gave birth to Camp Bisco back in 1999 when they wanted to create an outlet for two types of music that were growing increasingly popular; electronic and jam bands. Year by year the festival grew and last year, it attracted a whopping 10,000 attendees. Now, let me tell you, I am from Mariavile. We have one stop light, a beautiful lake, and one general store- no joke. It has been amazing watching this festival mature, and it’s insane how large it has become. Attendees are welcomed to camp out, come for the day, or they offer a shuttle to some of the closest hotels – which happen to be in Albany.

Ticket prices range from $185 for general admission on-sale (limited quantity) then rise up to $199. These are both for the entire festival. One day passes are only available for Saturday, weighing in at $90 a pop. If you’re coming from NYC, there is a shuttle that will take you to and from the festival that costs $80.

Don’t worry, they don’t toss you out in a field with some music and a tent and expect you to have a good time (even though you still would). They have plenty of food/drink vending, toilets, showers, and of course a giant Ferris wheel in the middle of it all. Further entertainment includes a silent disco, morning yoga, firebreathers, and vendors selling everything from hula hoops to Nag Champa.

Be sure to check the website for camping details and a full list of artists that will be attending. We’re counting down the days and hope to see you all there!
